This blog site is owned and written by David Furmage from Birmingham, UK as a part of his MA studies at Birmingham City University on Creative Industries & Cultural Policy.
The site will focus on considerations of social media and policy, with a focus on the business uses of social media and how appropriate or not certain social media platforms are to certain tasks.
Its primary purpose will be to tease out the evolution of social media platforms and their relevance to communicating between government, business support and innovation sites and their key stakeholders.
Are there lessons we can learn to make social media communication more effective?
Aside from working on this MA I am Creative, Digital & Cultural Lead at the Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership (GBSLEP). This organisation is part of the government devolution agenda.
My primary task is to grow the ‘Creative Global city’ of Birmingham through its cultural offer and high value digital/creative sector in order to hit targets like jobs, business success and quality of life … so citizens want to live and work in Birmingham rather than somewhere else, such as London or Manchester!
